Hi guys/girls i have a facelift 2006 c3 1.4 manual, i have had reason to send my bsi away to be repaired i have now put it back in the car and all works well except the car now thinks it is an automatic !!! so i can not start it as it tells me to put the car in P.
I have LEXIA and have played about with it a bit but can not find anywhere i can program the bsi to a manual box so any ideas are very welcome

I'd send the BSI back to the place that repaired it and get them to put it right.

These were my original thoughts.Missing Lincs wrote:I'd send the BSI back to the place that repaired it and get them to put it right.
It seems that they sent you back a BSI from a different car, so although the gearbox is wrong, this may just be the beginning of the problems. Everything can be fixed with lexia, with the exception of engine ECU to BSI coding and remote central locking can be problematic/expensive requiring additional work.
If its a BSI from a different car (not your BSI repaired), the immobiliser is likely to fail which is a real problem and not fixed by lexia.

Hi it is my BSI unit but it had to be wiped clean and i was given a pin code with it, i have programed the key and that seems to be fine.
The bsi and ecu are talking and everything works fine in the car , i had to turn on a extras like the auto lights etc it just the gearbox i just can not find anywhere in lexia where i can switch from auto to manual

Can you contact the people who did the repair and ask them? If they have the capability to wipe a BSI and reprogramme it sounds like they know their stuff (apart from gearbox types).
Its probably only a simple flag in the programming instructions but I think changing the gearbox type is beyond Lexia.
If you 'read' the car with Lexia, what does it say for the transmission module? A manual doesn't have one so there shouldn't be anything to read.

Have a look at the slides I made from lexia connected to an early C3 where I can 'Missing' or 'Present' the automatic gearbox option in the BSI.TOMMIEBOY959 wrote:i just can not find anywhere in lexia where i can switch from auto to manual
You get asked for the PIN, let me know if your pin doesn't work.
Its worth noting that there are option 'download from internet' to get the full configuration from citroen based on your VIN and citroens database of what parts are fitted to its cars. The internet option will need to be paid for though

Many thanks for that i have got to that now but it seems i need a 5 number pin code whereas i have a 4 number code on my bsi which worked as i coded it in so are there 2 codes on a car ?

It sounds like the code that comes on a plastic card with the car. If you don't have it there is a piece of software that can generate it from the VIN but its one of those 'key gen' types that not 100% above board if you know what I mean. There are some 'garage' forums where you can post a request to get your code - at your own risk of course!! Google is your friend

@TOMMIEBOY959
Try Pin 03114 that's Lexia programming protection code nothing to do with the specific BSI.
