Good morning
I bought this Lexia kit years ago. I don't remember where and how much etc. What I do know is that I never got it working. It really doesn't appear to be a user friendly installation process in terms of software. I have also attached a list of software that came with the unit.
I am running a Win XP 32 bit virtual machine on my Win 10 64bit computer. When I run the Diagbox ISO setup it returns an error and aborts the installation.
Really doesn't appear to have a straight forward installation process. Can anyone guide me step by step OR suggest a step-by-step guide elsewhere?

I downloaded the latest version of Daemon Tools Lite. Installed it in Win 10. Mounted the same Diagbox ISO that came with the software and it installed first time without any errors.

I had an error when attempting to select my make and model of vehicle. Ran an update to the next version available and the error did not appear the next time. I was able to select my make and model.
The diagbox software asks me whether I want to use the "Lexia" or "Scantool" option. I select "Lexia and enter my RPO and VIN numbers. (I'm not sure I'm using the correct RPO number. I found a sticker on the car when opening the passenger door and it has two 4 digit numbers with my VIN number).
It appears that the numbers I enter are accepted but I still cannot scan the vehicle. Global Scan is greyed out. The "Measure" tab does not list my vehicle. The "Report" tab also has no information in it.
The software says says "no user authenticated". Does one have to be online and logged in before the software functions? Where do I go to register an account, if this is even required?

Both the hardware (LEXIA3) and the software are pirated Chinese knock-offs of the tools PSA (Citroen) use.
If it's not too late, for post 2005 vehicles, I would recommend the "full chip" versions of the LEXIA3. It has more CAN BUS versatility. But the LEXIA Mk1 version should still work OK for your car (pre 2010). Having said that I've had quality problems with the LEXIA hardware that meant it would only poll the engine ECU and ABS ECU !!?? So you cant rule out hardware faults if you are having problems.
As far as the software is concerned it is "cut down" and hacked. The software is designed to run networked from a server installed at the dealership. So it's a bit dodgy running it on a standalone PC. Parts of the software are just missing! Any ECU updates are now done over the internet by PSA franchises. You, as Joe Citizen, do not have access to PSA's network! But it's very rare that you would absolutely need an ECU update. And the updates are few and far between anyway.
Having played my "Negative Nelly" role, generally speaking, you should be able to get the software running and get usable data from your car. It may be a bit clunky and some bits might not work but you will get the data you are looking for from the car.
Look here for the RPO number.
If the first digit is a '0' you can drop it and just input the 4 digits. You may get some funny results if you don't get the RPO correct.
On my laptop I run XP native but I can not get it to update diagbox past 7.06 (I think that's what it is). It's just enough to squeeze the relevant info out of my 2003 C3! However you need to get the Diagbox software version as high as possible 'else the software will not recognize "newer" ECU's.
It seems if you can get virtual machine running correctly on your PC, you tend to get better results from the Diagbox install.
Have you tried the Peugeot Planet side of Diagbox? Not sure, but if you try 207, 307 or 1007 (cars) you might get better results. I'm not saying that's a permanent fix but I have found some bits of diagbox work better under PP than they do under LEXIA. Of course Peugeot cars are basically the same as Citroens.
Sorry, but I am not very good with Windows and it seems that 90% of installation problems relate to Windows.
To get the VIN automatically, I have found that the ignition needs to be on. But I get a "VSI(LEXIA?) not installed correctly and needs to be reset" error during scanning despite the fact that it just correctly identified the VIN and is clearly talking to the car?
Keep trying.

Thank you. I had the most success this past weekend than previously. I think perhaps running ALL the updates will be my next move.
I'm not sure what to do with the Peugoet Planet software. I don't seem to get very far with that Disc 1. Do you think perhaps loading a Peugoet 207 using Diagbox might yield proper error codes for my Citroen? (if the vehicles are so similar)
