Hi
I have multiple diesel related questions regarding my 2006 C3 1.4 HDi.
1) I'm looking at purchasing an ELM327 bluetooth diagnostic interface. However the most of these are not compatible with vehicles that use "KWP Fast" or "KWP Slow" protocols. I went https://www.outilsobdfacile.com/vehicle ... d2/citroen and see that there is 2 types of 2006 diesel listed. One uses the "KWP Fast" (no good for these ELM327 tools) protocol and the other uses "CAN 11bit" protocol. QUESTION - How do I find out what protocol my vehicle uses?

You should only be using lexia tool to diagnose the C3 Diesel, it covers everything you need.
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel

It is cheap compared to taking the car to a Citroen dealer, at least, in the UK.
You can have unlimited reads with lexia, but Citroen charge per-read and they don't always tell you what was read.
The most expensive was £115, scrolling down will provider cheaper results.
I can only say how helpful lexia has been to me for diagnosing C3 faults.

You can get it from china, they are made there and it can be cheaper to go directly to the source country LINK
The instructions to install the software will probably be a youtube video

Does anyone know what the difference is between a FULL CHIP & NO CHIP on the Lexia 3 tool? (Is it just speed of processing OR are there limitations on what sensors can be accessed and analysed?) Following on from that, is there a way to visually tell the difference?

Full Chip will give you access to later version of the PSA cars, there are definitely some peugeot models need all the chips.
For an early C3, any of the lexia will work, they just don't connect to the latest diagbox software. So don't go high with the diagbox versions, they are just updated for the later cars, not better connectivity to older cars.
A lexia without 'C' or Full Chip may not connect to cars after around 2016 because it can't connect to a later diagbox software.
There is no speed processing changes, most of the speed is down to your laptop as only the old laptops are generally used for lexia.
There is no difference to which sensors they can access, it is just a case of connecting to the car or not connecting to the car.
