Evening all.

Per the title really - I'm going to look at a C3 of this spec, for my Son & Daughter-in-law.

Having had a look through the forums, I'll certainly be looking for the snowflake & S symbols! Should these come on and extinguish on normal start up, like the air-bag and ABS lights do on most cars? Or, is it a case of "see the snowflake, walk away"?!

After any buying advice you can offer please. Anywhere that they rust like a b*****d? Any specific places to feel for damp carpets? Any bushes that wear and are a bitch/expensive to replace?

I'd appreciate any information you can provide.

Many thanks,

Craig.

Hi Craig,

I would say some problems to watch for on a 2002 petrol are detailed in the posts below

Leaking washer jets causes damage to fuel injector on the C3

Jangling sound from the front while driving - C3 broken spring and Broken front suspension springs on C3 (recall)

for the semi auto clutch, the clutch actuator/clutch wear program can throw errors.

Citroen C3 Sensodrive Auto popping out of gear when slowing down.

Thanks very much C3driver 52. Just the sort of thing I was after.

I'd read about the gearbox, but not the washer jets and front springs!

Is there anything else I should know, anyone? Common rust spots? Leaks?

Thanks in advance.

The body is very good for rust, you shouldn't have any.

There is a rust problem with the rear exhaust hanger on some models C3 Diesel rear exhaust hanger broken (strap rusted through)

The C3 doesn't tend to leak, you may get problems if all the engine bay covers are not fitted (battery cover also covers some ECUs) and the headlights can fill up with water C3 Water in the Headlights due to poorly refitted lamp covers

The pluriel C3, is well known for leaking roofs, that has it's own section of the forum devoted to the Pluriel and it's specific problems
