Re: Check Engine, P3013, P3014 ?

Problem has been solved. It was related to the O2 sensor. I pulled the sensor and it was black and sooty, whereas I understand a good one would be a tan coloured. So obviously the ECU was running a very rich mixture, I assume. I installed a new O2 sensor, and re-ran the "learning" procedur...

Re: changing a timing belt on a TU5JP4 1.6 petrol 16 valve

You can use 8mm drill bits to lock the TU5 cams (stick the chuck end into the cam sprocket hole). The crank lock is not really necessary, just use a good bright witness mark on the crank pulley and case before you remove the old belt. Your old belt may have witness marks on it already. I find transf...

Building a Pluriel Hardtop

Like many (If not most) Pluriel owners, I am faced with a fabric roof which does not work. As I understand the history, most of the folding fabric roofs had failed by the fifth year (and were out of warranty). Now this did not worry me when I purchased it, as I have been running it as a Spider, with...

Re: Building a Pluriel Hardtop

Here are the first photos, showing the present state, with the fabric roof components removed. The rear glass section is folded down into the storage compartment, and I will look at how I can integrate that to the new roof. In the close up photos of the track section, you can see where I intend to p...

Re: Building a Pluriel Hardtop

Update on the Hardtop build. I have removed the arches, for renewing the clear coat, and for trailing methods of hardtop attachment. As mentioned in the previous post, the original slide channel is ideal for inserting attachment points for the hardtop. I have attach a photo showing one concept, usin...

Re: Building a Pluriel Hardtop - Roof Template

Update: I reinstalled the arches today and began the process of cutting a template for the roof panel. I measured up the roof opening, between the out edge of the arches rubber seals, the distance across the opening is 980mm. I checked this distance all the way down to the plastic deflector at the b...

Re: Building a Pluriel Hardtop- bending formwork

I am attaching a photo of the roof panel bending formwork that I am now assembling (there are a few cross pieces still to be added). The arches of the formwork were traced from the Pluriel arches. The ply panel has been finished and now has to be bent to fit the arches. Once attached to the form, th...

Re: Building a Pluriel Hardtop

Update: Roof panel cured and trimmed for final fitting to the roof arches. I allowed the epoxy glass layer to cure for two days. Then trimmed the over lap glass with my Dremel tool. I placed the panel on the roof arches to mark for final trimming, and bolt track centre Line. You can see by the photo...

Re: Building a Pluriel Hardtop - Update, Roof On

Update. Roof is on for driving tests. As you can see by the photos below, the roof is now mounted on the arches. The roof panel has been primed for final paint. I tried several different track locking approaches but decided the Cabinet screws and barrels gave the best option and was easily removable...

Re: Building a Pluriel Hardtop - Drive Test Report

Completed the first drive test today. Hardtop stayed in place, no wind noise ( in fact it is more quiet than the soft top). There are some slight rattles as the chassis flexes over bumps, I am guessing that this is caused by track washer bounce. I will pull out the track slider cabinet nut ends and ...
