I can't help you with the locking problem but once I had a sidelight bulb failure warning and I couldn't see any front or rear lamp failure. However on closer inspection it was one of the two number plate lamps that had blown.

Disconnect the battery before working on anything to do with the air bags to prevent any mistakes.

Keys tested at locksmiths and are sending a signal. Next step is coms2000. Can't get steering wheel off. Your stats say 2008, that's a MK2. Which is it?
Tell me EXACTLY step by step what you did for the BSI reset.
