Finally got 'round to replacing the hinge today. It's all good again. :) I used a trolley jack with a rubber pad on to support the door, and to lower it slightly to allow the removal of the old hinge and insertion of the new one. I've found the answer, but I'm going to post it just in case anyone makes the same schoolboy error. H6W bulbs look identical to (the correct fitment) H21W until you look very closely at the pin offset . This would explain why mine went in, but were a very tight fit. Minor update........

The car is currently at my independent garage. They have confirmed that all the electrics to and from the ePAS unit are good, and they are trying to source a new motor. I doubt they will be back to me today, now. Hopefully I will know more tomorrow.
