Routemaster, As you expect, the engine RPM with a 5 speed box is somewhat higher than the 6 speed. If I remember correctly I'm doing about 3200 at 70mph. Cars I have owned in recent years with bigger engines tend to do just under 3000rpm and I have always preferred to keep at that for economy's sake...

Update. The C3 is now 2 years old and just had it's 2nd annual service this week at (only) 3550 miles. As is the norm now, they supplied me with a video inspection of the underside. New owner - my opinions on New C3 - Year 3
Here I am again! The car will be 3 years old at the end of May. Sadly C3 and I are parting company today. Due to a recent addition to the family (grandchild, I hasten to add :lol: ) the car is no longer big enough for us. I can't even get the pushchair in the boot let alone shopping for 2 households...

Well the Picasso was a thoroughly bad experience. After 5 months and several hundred pounds it's gone. About 10 days out of the dealer 3 month warranty it smashed the front out of the gearbox and dumped the oil out onto the clutch and floor.
