Citroen C3 SC/A51 Second Generation petrol and diesel engine options

The Second generation of Citroen C3 (the SC/A51) started life in late 2009 and became the 2010 model.

Some of the engine options available were carried over from the previous original shape (facelift) models with the addition of the new VTi 'Prince' BMW and PSA-designed engines. These are small, high efficiency, all aluminium, variable valve timing with variable valve lift petrol engines.

The engines are mounted in the front of the car, along with the gearbox option that drives the front wheels.

Petrol

  • 1.1 L (1124 cc) TU1, 60 PS (59 hp/44 kW) Power and 69 lb·ft (94 N·m) Torque
  • 1.4 L (1360 cc) TU3, 75 PS (75 hp/55 kW) Power and 87 lb·ft (118 N·m) Torque

Prince:

  • VTi 95 1.4 L (1397 cc) 16 valve, 95 PS (70 kW; 94 hp) Power at 6,000 rpm, 135 N⋅m (100 lbf⋅ft) Torque at 4,000 rpm, 0-60 in 10.6s
  • VTi 120 1.6 L (1598 cc) 16 valve, 120 PS (88 kW; 118 hp) Power at 6,000 rpm, 160 N⋅m (118 lbf⋅ft) Torque at 4,200 rpm, 0-60 in 8.9s

Diesel:

  • HDi 70 1.4 L (1398 cc) DV4 HDi, 70 PS (51 kW; 69 hp) Power at 4,000 rpm, 160 N⋅m (118 lbf⋅ft) Torque at 2,000 rpm, 0-60 in 13.7s
  • HDi 90 1.6 L (1560 cc) DV6 HDi 16 valve diesel, 90 PS (66 kW; 89 hp) Power at 3,750 rpm, 230 N⋅m (170 lbf⋅ft) Torque at 2,000 rpm, 0-60 in 11.3s (Airdream+)
  • HDiF 110 1.6 L (1560 cc) DV6 HDiF 16 valve diesel, with Diesel Particulate Filter (FAP), 110 PS (81 kW; 110 hp) Power at 4,000 rpm, 270 N⋅m (199 lbf⋅ft) Torque at 2000 rpm, 0-60 in 9.9s

Note the new Airdream+ low emissions 1.6 diesel engine that outputs 99g CO2/km.

The range has seven engines to choose from, including four petrol and three types of diesel. Each brings a balance of punchy performance, maximum economy and lower emissions (than the previous models).
